Surface scratches that sit within the clear coat can sometimes be cut and polished back without repainting. Scratches that have broken through to the colour coat or bare metal require panel preparation and repainting. Paint transfer — colour rubbed from another vehicle onto yours — is cleaned and assessed before deciding on the approach. We'll tell you exactly what the scratch needs, not just assume it requires a full panel repaint.
Plastic bumpers scuff, crack and craze from low-speed impacts, car park reversing errors and road debris. Depending on the severity, we either repair and repaint the existing bumper or replace and paint a new one. Scuffs with no structural cracking are cleaned, filled where necessary, primed and painted to match. Cracked or torn bumpers may need plastic welding or replacement before paint — we assess this when you bring the vehicle in or send photos.
Dented doors, guards, bonnets and quarter panels are repaired either by panel beating — working the metal back from behind — or by controlled filler and blocking where the geometry requires it. Shallow dents with intact paint may be suitable for paintless dent repair (PDR), which avoids disturbing the paint surface entirely. We assess the dent shape, depth and paint condition before recommending an approach. The goal is always the least invasive repair that achieves the correct result.
Not all dent and scratch repairs end at the repair itself. When paint has been broken, metal exposed or a repaired area needs blending into surrounding panels, refinishing is part of the job. This means priming, colour-coating and clear-coating the affected area, then blending at panel edges so the repair is invisible under normal viewing conditions. We don't patch and hope — if refinishing is needed to make the repair correct, we include it rather than leaving a visible line at the edge of the work.
